Pittsburgh Textile Designer Launches New Home Collection
The online shop by Savannah Hayes features fabric by the yard, pillows, throw blankets, tea towels, phone cases and more in bold, graphic prints.

After working in the home and apparel industry for renowned brands such as Kelly Wearstler, Martha Stewart and Kravet Fabrics, Pittsburgh-based textile designer Savannah Hayes launched her own eponymous collection and online shop earlier this month.
Inspired by an urban, graphic aesthetic, the Savannah Hayes inaugural line includes fabric sold by the yard, pillows, throw blankets, tea towels, phone cases, marble coasters and cheese trays in a variety of textures — all reflective of Hayes’ signature, elegant style.
“I love to style my bold black-and-white graphics with soft blush tones, metal and stone,” Hayes says of her line.
A San Francisco native, Hayes — who studied at the University of Pennsylvania, University College London and New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology — says she was able to keep production for her first collection in the United States.

design inspiration
For this well-traveled couple, interior designer Vicci Franz put together a contemporary master bathroom reminiscent of the modern style the homeowners saw in larger metropolitan areas.
“The design style they wanted was a surprise because their master bedroom is very traditional,” says Franz, owner of Vicci Franz Interior Design, LLC in Allison Park, who also coordinated Pittsburgh Magazine’s Ultimate House, a custom-design luxury residence in Pine Township. “It was a great juxtaposition of two very different styles.”
For this renovation, Franz brought in European-designed faucets, sinks and shower fixtures, as well as a linear-cut travertine stone in shades of gray, silver and off-white for the floor and walls. A frameless glass shower gives the illusion of more space, and a custom vanity provides ample storage space while concealing a laundry chute.
“It was a great project combining the needs of the client with the new design,” Franz says.
