Pittsburgh Magazine Wins Two Golden Quill Awards
A pair of features were honored at Wednesday night's ceremony, presented by the Press Club of Western Pennsylvania.
Pittsburgh Magazine was honored with a pair of Golden Quill Awards on Wednesday night, as two 2024 features were recognized with honors from the Press Club of Western Pennsylvania.
“Traveling for Tokes,” Grant Segall’s feature on the impact of recreational marijuana legislation in Ohio, won an award for Excellence in Written Journalism in the Business/Technology/Consumer category.
PM Food Editor Kristy Graver’s exhaustive survey of the region’s burgers was also recognized, as the “Best Burgers” feature won an Excellence in Written Journalism prize in the Lifestyle category.
The Golden Quill Awards, which were this year held at Rivers Casino, recognize achievement in media throughout Western and Central Pennsylvania. During the 61st annual ceremony, David “Mr. McFeely” Newell was honored with the annual President’s Award, while Maggie Jones Patterson, a longtime journalism professor at Duquesne University, received the Service to Journalism Award.
