Pirates pitching phenom Paul Skenes told Seth Meyers he was “super” excited to learn an 11-year-old in Los Angeles had found his 1/1 baseball card.

The National League Rookie of the Year who appeared on NBC’s “Late Night With Seth Meyers” on Jan. 29, also talked about why he grew out his famous mustache. As someone parodied for his stoic expressions — especially when he learned he had won Rookie of the Year — Skenes explained that it’s just “composure.”

Meyers, whose father grew up in Pittsburgh, is a rabid fan of the Steel City and often brings fellow Pittsburghers onto his show, including Michael Keaton.
