Official Training Begins for the Pittsburgh Marathon
More than 40,000 people are expected to participate in the marathon weekend events on May 2-4.
There’s a 50% chance of snow and low temperatures in the 20s predicted for Saturday, Jan. 11. So bundle up! That’s the kickoff day of the official training sessions for the 2025 Pittsburgh Marathon.
Unfortunately, with a mere four months to prepare for the May 4 event, runners can’t afford to be choosy with the weather conditions.
Participants will meet at P3R marathon headquarters, 810 River Ave., North Shore, 15212 at 8 a.m. to run or walk 5K or 10K mapped-out routes to start getting ready.
On hand on Saturday will be pace group leaders from Steel City Road Runners, City of Bridges Run Club, Rogue Runners and Walkers and Fleet Feet Pittsburgh Run Club to help guide participants in their training.
More than 40,000 people are expected to participate in events during marathon weekend, May 2-4, which will include contests and activities for all ages and abilities.
