A stamp from the past is coming back — and it just might feature our favorite neighbor.

The United States Postal Service is asking the public to vote on which of 25 popular stamp designs should be reissued in 2026. Among the designs is the “Mister Rogers” stamp, featuring the iconic television host and one of his puppet friends, King Friday XIII. The stamp was originally issued in March 2018.

The nominees come from “a pool of stamps issued from the past, including some that were among our bestsellers and most popular,” according to the contest website.

Popular though Mister Rogers is, the competition is stiff. Other contending stamps feature Peter Pan, Charlie Brown, Wonder Woman, Batman and more.

The contest, which is part of celebrations dedicated to the Postal Service’s 250th birthday, will culminate in an announcement at next year’s World Expo, the largest annual gathering of stamp enthusiasts. The winning stamp should be available in May 2026.

Neighborly voters can cast their ballot for Mister Rogers — or, we suppose, another candidate — at this website through September 30.
