Is Food Hall Dining the Latest Trend in Pittsburgh?
Another variety-driven food hall will open next month — this time with a twist.

Before making your way to the newest Downtown lunch spot when it opens at the beginning of February, leave your cash at home.
Oxford Market, now the third food-hall style eatery opening in the Pittsburgh area, will open Feb. 1 at One Oxford Centre. Aside from the bar — to be open only in the evenings — the business will not accept any cash payment, instead using cashless ordering and payment kiosks.
The market, which is a part of the $50 million dollar renovation to the Grant Street building that began last year, will serve breakfast, lunch and bar snacks in the evenings.

The food will include offerings from Chicago-based catering and vending company Eurest, plus a rotation of to-be-named local chefs. The different stations available may include one type with Italian food, one with Mexican or Indian food and a grill section, among others.
Offering a variety of different foods is important to customers right now, especially to millennials, Eurest regional VP Ken MacIntyre said in a release.
"This provides a really nice environment where you can get a variety of restaurants and menu offerings all in one place."
