Ready to have a great night while keeping warm? Grab a parking spot on South Braddock Avenue, running through the heart of Regent Square, and follow our guide to a great night.

  Work up an appetite while taking a stroll through Concept Art Gallery (1031 S. Braddock Ave.; conceptgallery.com), one of the city’s oldest neighborhood galleries. Learn a new local name or two — Concept focuses on artists from the region and showcases works that highlight Pittsburgh’s past. The gallery is open ’til 5:30 most evenings.

  Grab a table at Root 174 (1113 S. Braddock Ave.; root174.com), the small restaurant with big flavors from chef Keith Fuller — just a block away. Everything is good, but don’t miss the crispy Brussels sprouts with bacon-black pepper glaze.

  After dinner, take in a film at Regent Square Theater (1035 S. Braddock Ave.; theaters.pittsburgharts.org). Still among the best screening rooms in town, the theater specializes in independent and foreign fare; the Pittsburgh Filmmakers seal on the door means just about everything that flickers across the screen will be worth your time.

  Discuss the film over cocktails at The Map Room (1126 S. Braddock Ave.; themaproompgh.com). One of Pittsburgh’s unheralded night spots, the cozy bar next to the more raucous D’s Six Pax & Dogz is a haven for drinks and conversation. Between the art, the food and the film, you have plenty to discuss.
