Grape Pie Crust Recipe

Anyone who loves pie will tell you that homemade crust is as important as the fruit and sugar inside. If you don't have the time, a store-bought crust will do, but if it's something special you're after, try this crust.

In a medium sized bowl combine a cup of flour, one quarter teaspoon of salt and one eighth teaspoon of baking powder. Add one half cup of cold butter cut into small pieces. Sprinkle 3 tablespoons ice water over the dough and fold in with a fork until it holds together.

On a floured surface roll the dough out into a flat circle with a rolling pin covered in flour. Put the crust into a greased pie pan, trim the edges leaving enough to fold over and crimp along the edges of the pan. Add filling and bake until edges are brown.
