There’s the Print Edition of Pittsburgh Magazine — And a Lot More

Pittsburgh Magazine Covers 1

It may seem odd to promote Pittsburgh Magazine’s free website content, e-newsletters and social channels in our print publication, but we want to put a spotlight on the full array of news and features that’s being produced by our 56-year-old organization.

For 2025, PM Creative Director Huck Beard has redesigned our daily and weekly newsletters to provide a more streamlined approach with more vibrant color.

The 412, which is delivered by email at 6:15 a.m. six days a week, provides breaking news stories — like the recent announcement of a new director at The Andy Warhol Museum or a change in schedule for the 2025 Three Rivers Arts Festival — as well as columns, jobs listings, our Pet of the Week and other features. We also conduct readers’ polls, such as who should be nominated for the new Pittsburgh Walk of Fame. On average, we publish 20 fresh stories each week on pittsburghmagazine.com.

In the redesigned 412, PM Web Manager Aidan McClain has added a daily trivia question to test your knowledge of Pittsburgh and its history. The answer is available in the next day’s newsletter. Everyone seems to love nostalgia.

The 412 also includes all the stories you’ll find in our other weekly newsletters. NEST, focused on home, real estate and design, is compiled by HOME Editor Jessica Sinichak and delivered Tuesdays. “Hot Property” — which highlights a house for sale with an interesting backstory — is often our most-read online story of the week. Our correspondent, Meg St-Esprit, profiles luxury and more affordable homes that she finds throughout the nooks and crannies of our varied neighborhoods and communities.

Visitors Guide comes out every Wednesday afternoon. It’s usually topped with PM Managing Editor Sean Collier’s Things to Do in Pittsburgh This Weekend segment and a feature of a local attraction or nearby place to visit.

PGHEats, compiled by Food Editor Kristy Graver, delivers the hot food and dining news every Thursday. This covers everything from new restaurant openings, a round-up of standout cocktail lounges or breweries, a dining review or a feature about an inventive chef.

We also have had BeWell, a health-focused newsletter, and Weddings. And of course, you’ll see updates and interactive features on our growing social channels.

Beyond stories, Pittsburgh Magazine also honors women leaders in the community through our Women & Business Awards program, held four times a year. Each fall, Pittsburgh Magazine and PUMP honor 40 professional and community leaders under the age of 40. We also present Ultimate House, which provides the public a sneak peek of an innovative home or condo. Among other events, we host the popular Pittsburgh Wine & Spirits Festival.

And plans are underway for another (tasty) event to be held this spring. You’ll be sure to read about it not only in our print magazine, but in our newsletters, too.
