Allegheny County Health Department Closes Enson Market
Food inspectors cite several violations within weeks of the market opening in Point Breeze North.
[UPDATE: The citations have been removed as of July 15.]
The Allegheny County Health Department has shut down the newly opened Enson Market and its adjacent Ineffable Cà Phê in Rockwell Park in Point Breeze North, citing a number of health violations during a reinspection.
It posted the closing on July 10. Among the violations, health inspectors found foods kept at unsafe temperatures, a failure to prevent cross-contamination, inadequate cleaning and sanitation, inadequate employee personal hygiene, insufficient handwashing facilities, inadequate pest management and lack of demonstration of knowledge.
The 40,000-square-foot market features aisles and aisles of Asian and American products. It opened in late June.
Under procedures, the county health department would allow the reopening of the market once the violations are corrected.
