The Pittsburgh Pirates' four representatives in this year's All-Star game flew in style to Cincinnati Sunday night after one of the most thrilling regular-season weekends in the city's baseball history.
Right-handed pitchers Gerrit Cole, A.J. Burnett, Mark Melancon and center fielder Andrew McCutchen, along with members of their families, boarded a private jet just hours after the Pirates took three-out-of-four from the first place Cardinals.
Saturday's epic contest, which lasted 14 innings, ended with McCutchen's walk-on, 2-run homer to dead center. Sunday was just as thrilling, when Gregory Polanco smacked a walk-on single to right field in the bottom of the 10th inning to give the Bucs a 6-5 win.
From the All-Star's tweets and posts on Instagram, it appeared to be a boisterous, joyous flight to Cincinnati.
