Meet Korrine: A Smart, Easygoing Companion Ready to Come Home 

Looking for a dog who enjoys getting out and exploring just as much as relaxing at home? Meet Korrine, a nearly 3-year-old mixed-breed sweetheart who might be the perfect addition to your family. 

Korrine has been waiting for her next chapter at Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh (HARP) since mid-June, after her previous owner could no longer care for her. This intelligent, easygoing girl has spent her time at HARP showing staff and volunteers what a wonderful companion she can be, and she’s ready to share those qualities with a family of her own.  

Korrine is the kind of dog who can make the most of just about any outing. Through HARP’s Barks & Recs field trip program, she has enjoyed trips to stores, restaurants, and parks, earning glowing reviews from the volunteers who spend time with her. She walks beautifully on a leash, enjoys the company of other dogs, and loves showing off her smarts by learning skills and earning her favorite toys. 

But Korrine isn’t all about adventure. She also has a wonderfully relaxed side. Give her a nylabone or chew toy, and she’s happy to entertain herself while you work from home, catch up on a favorite show, or simply enjoy a quiet evening. She has even lived successfully with younger children in the past, making her a potential fit for a family looking for a canine companion to share in everyday life. 

Korrine does have a few preferences to keep in mind. She isn’t a fan of cats, so a feline-free home will be the best match for her. If you already have a dog, HARP recommends bringing your canine companion in for a meet-and-greet to help determine whether they’re a good fit. 

As one of HARP’s longer-stay residents, Korrine is also part of the Best Paw Forward program, which includes two complimentary training sessions for her new family. It’s an opportunity to build on her existing skills, strengthen your bond, and help make the transition into her new home a success. 

Korrine has so much to offer: a bright mind, a calm presence, a love of adventure, and the ability to settle in when the day winds down. Now she just needs someone to see what a special dog she is.
