If you’ve ever wanted a dinner companion who shows up on time, appreciates every bite, and never scrolls through their phone at the table, Maggie might just be your perfect match.

This 6-year-old domestic shorthair is Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh’s Pet of the Month, and she’s ready to bring her charming personality (and excellent dining etiquette) to a home of her own. Maggie has been in HARP’s care for more than 70 days after her previous family was no longer able to care for her, but through it all, she’s remained what staff describe as wonderfully social, affectionate, and people focused.

Maggie thrives on companionship and is happiest when she has someone nearby, especially during mealtime. She’s the kind of cat who believes dinner is a shared experience, happily keeping you company while you unwind from the day. And while she loves attention, she also has a confident, communicative side—she’s not shy about letting you know when she’s had enough pets with a gentle, polite cue.

Currently living in a foster home, Maggie is truly coming into her own. In a relaxed, home environment, her personality shines: she’s calm, content, and enjoys a predictable routine. It’s the kind of setting where she’s most comfortable, and it gives potential adopters a glimpse of just how seamlessly she could settle into her forever home.

Like many adult cats, Maggie does have some manageable medical needs. The good news? HARP’s team will make sure any potential adopter feels fully prepared and supported, walking them through her care and setting her—and you—up for long-term success.

Cats like Maggie often get overlooked in favor of younger kittens, but those who take the time to meet her quickly discover the joy of adopting an adult pet: her personality is already established, her affectionate nature is undeniable, and she knows exactly what she wants—companionship, comfort, and, of course, a reliable dinner date.

If your evenings could use a little more warmth, a little more routine, and a lot more purring, Maggie is ready to pull up a chair. Learn more and apply to meet her through Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh today.
