An Upcoming Feature Film is Looking for Extras
“Hershey,” a new film about the famous chocolatier, is seeking background performers of all ages.
Pittsburghers looking to see a glimpse of themselves on the silver screen — even if it’s not a close-up — have another chance to appear in a motion picture.
“Hershey,” a new film about chocolatier Milton Hershey and his wife, is looking for paid extras to shoot scenes in and around Pittsburgh. Filming is set to take place from May 12-June 27.
The film, which is set for a 2026 release, will be directed by “Mean Girls” and “Freaky Friday” helmer Mark Waters. The cast includes Finn Wittrock of “The Big Short” and the series “American Horror Story,” as well as Alexandra Daddario, known for the popular HBO shows “The White Lotus” and “True Detective.”
Potential extras should have daytime availability over the shooting period, and can expect to make $225 per 12-hour shoot. Transportation is required, as some locations will be an hour or so outside of the city. Full requirements and details are available at a registration website set up by Mosser Casting.
“Hershey” is coming to the area just as Allegheny County Council is lobbying Harrisburg for an uncapped tax credit for film production. While production has continued in Pittsburgh, the number of films and television shows being produced in the area has slowed in recent years as competing states have offered better incentives to filmmakers.
The production is seeking background performers of all ages.
