Who’s Headlining This Year’s Lucille Ball Comedy Festival?
A pair of comedy legends will take the stage at the annual fest in nearby Jamestown, New York.
An array of comedy legends and rising stars are coming to Lucy’s hometown — and for Pittsburghers, it’s another chance to see a Comedy Central favorite.
Jon Stewart, the comedian and commentator who returned to his longtime gig on “The Daily Show” last year, will headline the annual Lucille Ball Comedy Festival on Aug. 9 in Jamestown, New York. The festival, which runs from Aug. 7-10, is presented annually by the National Comedy Center.

Stewart will perform on May 31 at the Benedum Center, Downtown; that show sold out almost immediately, making the Jamestown appearance an opportunity for Pittsburghers to see the star relatively close to home.
Another comedy legend will appear on Aug. 10 at the festival, though not necessarily in a strictly comedic setting. Bill Murray will headline a stand-up showcase alongside a band including Mike Zito, Albert Castiglia and “Conan” bandleader Jimmy Vivino.
Stewart’s show and the showcase featuring Murray are just two of more than 50 events promised over the four-day festival. Also on the schedule: A conversation featuring “SNL” star Mikey Day and his writing partner, Streeter Seidell, discussing the influential show as it celebrates its 50th season.
Individual tickets will be available at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 25, for National Comedy Center members; a general public on-sale is scheduled for May 2.
