Television’s “most realistic medical show” isn’t going anywhere.

The Pittsburgh-based medical drama “The Pitt” has been renewed for a second season at Max.

The show, which stars Noah Wyle of “ER” fame, won praise from medical professionals at Allegheny General Hospital for its realistic depiction of emergency room medicine.

“It’s been a thrill to watch audiences embrace ‘The Pitt’ as an update to procedural storytelling with a cast who authentically embody the heroics of doctors and nurses on shift in a 2025 emergency room,” said Sarah Aubrey, Head of Max Original Programming, in a statement.

As you watch along, keep an eye out for some of the Pittsburgh references we caught in the show. After all, John Wells Productions produces the show alongside Warner Bros. Wells is a Carnegie Mellon University graduate — does that lend itself to making the show authentic to Pittsburgh?

The season one finale airs April 10.
