Organizers of Pittsburgh Pride say existence is resistance, especially in such a divisive political climate. June is Pride Month, a time to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and how far we’ve come while also reflecting on how much farther we have to go to curate a more accepting and inclusive world. This year’s pride weekend, organized by a consortium of local LGBTQ+ organizations, will include a Pride Prom on June 5, a two-day festival June 6-7 and a parade on June 7.

Zombies? In the Monroeville Mall? It’s more likely than you may think, at least during Living Dead Weekend. The horror movie convention celebrates the films of George A. Romero in the mall, which was the backdrop for the director’s 1978 flick “Dawn of the Dead.” The con will include appearances by celebrity guests, including many members of the film’s cast and crew. There will also be a vendor market; access to the Living Dead Museum; and tours with George Romero historical and tour guide Lawrence DeVincentz.
