"I'd like to think I was helpful in improving people's lives, whether that's through mentoring or people benefiting from an organization I'm involved with."

Director of Engineering Energy Transition, Eaton; Secretary, Board of Directors, Auberle

Lydia Guthrie has been an engineer for almost 15 years — first in mechanical before becoming interested in the nuclear field (in college) and then moving toward natural gas.

She’s now on the power distribution side of things, encouraging energy transition in residential and commercial spaces.

“I like working on teams to solve problems with new technology,” she says.

And as someone who enjoys leading, she’s done plenty of mentoring in engineering and project management, specifically for women in technology. This desire undoubtedly is fueled by her own experience — and she’s now happy to pass that experience along. “I’ve had really good female mentors and sponsors,” she says.

She’s also actively involved with the local community and the Avonworth School District, and has been on the board of human service nonprofit Auberle for the past three years.
