Grit and kindness: Those are the two defining qualities that fuel Gina Govojdean’s professional achievements and community outreach.

Her determined and empathetic leadership inspires those around her, both in the workplace and throughout the community. In her new position as vice president of sales and supply for Howmet Aerospace — a company on the North Shore that makes more fuel-efficient engines for airplanes and gas turbines — Govojdean makes waves as a young female executive leader in a primarily male-dominated field.

After beginning as a procurement intern, Govojdean gained experience in other areas, like operations and audit, before eventually returning to procurement and now sales and supply.

She hopes to inspire the next generation of female leaders and is committed to supporting young people. This passion is reflected in her work with the Horatio Elder Association, a scholarship program for students who have demonstrated resilience in overcoming adversity.
