"I’m here to make today a little bit better for someone else than it was for myself."

Vice President, Nutrition & Education Programs, Adagio Health
As a teen and young adult, Britney Zwergel experienced food insecurity and knows firsthand the struggles and stigma that surround the issue. Now, as the vice president for nutrition & education programs at Adagio Health, she works to move people toward food security and opportunities for health, nutrition and overall wellness.
Under her leadership, Adagio Health began screening clients to identify food insecurity and established an immediate intervention for those individuals through on-site food pantries. They also launched pop-up farmers markets across Western Pennsylvania, improved access to local produce for WIC members and much more.
Zwergel is the chair of the PA WIC Advisory Committee and a member of the National WIC Association Farmers Market Program Task Force. In 2023, she received the National WIC Association Leadership Award.
“It’s easy to stay complacent with how things are, but [we should have] the courage to be innovative and creative and strive for a better tomorrow,” she says.
