Shinora Grayson
Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, The Center that CARES

The Center that CARES is an organization located in the Hill District that offers education, housing stability, workforce development and more to children and young adults in the community.

Shinora Grayson is the vice president and COO of The Center, leading the charge to run five after-school program sites, a coffee shop and an event rental center. She is also the lead for fundraising for the Hamilton House, a space that will offer 13 affordable apartments for unhoused youth and young adults with a budget of $3.4 million.

“I hope at the end of the day to be in a position that changes the lives of the people in my community,” she says.

After losing her brother to gun violence in 2010, Grayson wanted to live in honor of him, which meant taking a vow of service to others. “If I give back and change someone else’s life, they might do the same,” she says.
