Dwight Boddorf
Borough Manager, Tarentum

Dwight Boddorf’s goal has always been to serve people, from the battlefield to the boardroom. Local government “has to be guided by integrity and genuine commitment to the public welfare … that’s something I’ve always enjoyed,” says the Tarentum borough manager.

That is why his work with the community did not stop when he was medically retired from the Marine Corps in 2008 after sustaining injuries in an explosion during his tour in Iraq in October 2006. He was then awarded a Purple Heart and a Combat Action Ribbon.

Once he recovered, he finished his tour in 2007. This drives his continuous work with Veterans Affairs, and he has always been committed to positively impacting the community and public welfare. He was the first chief veterans affairs officer to receive the PA Veterans Service Award in 2021.

Outside of work, he works with Veterans Affairs to research veteran suicide and identify prevention practices.
