Channing Moreland’s passions have been fueled by her own experiences. There was little discussion about mental health when she was growing up, but after she faced her own challenges and saw a lot of her friends struggling, she wanted to help others in this field.

Later, after facing what she called a “traumatic workplace experience,” she went on to found and co-own two counseling and wellness agencies. “I just vowed to always support other people who are going through something similar,” she says.

Moreland educates organizations throughout Pittsburgh on how to be more inclusive and support employee mental health and well-being. She previously served as board secretary for Sojourner House, which supports addicted mothers, and mentors young adults in several organizations. She’s designed a curriculum to increase access to free school-based mental health services for K-12 and mentors minority women who are trying to become licensed clinicians.
