Current Volunteer Opportunities at NHCO

North Hills Community Outreach is gearing up for our North Boroughs 5K & Walk on the morning of Saturday, August 12. The course starts and ends at Greenstone Church in Avalon, 939 California Avenue.

This effort relies on many volunteer course workers who help direct runners along the route and ensure that no vehicles drive onto the course.

We also need a few volunteers to distribute fliers to local businesses in the West View and Emsworth areas to help advertise the event.

Neighborhood Ambassadors – Outgoing, well-spoken and friendly volunteers are needed for NHCO’s Neighborhood Ambassadors Team. These volunteers oversee NHCO’s information tables at community events and provide short presentations to groups. They also deliver promotional flyers, brochures, and newsletters to local offices, libraries and community centers. Please watch this webinar to familiarize yourself with NHCO’s mission, programs, services, and more.

Receptionist needed at our North Boroughs office Tuesday afternoons, 1-4 pm. The receptionist sits at the front desk, answers and directs phone calls, welcomes visitors, accepts in-kind donations, and other administrative duties.

Volunteer Opportunities at the Garden – Harvest season is fast approaching and we need volunteers to help with harvesting and weighing produce, weeding, trimming, watering, turning compost, and other maintenance tasks. – click here to view the schedule and to register for a time slot.
