Dress for Success Pittsburgh could not operate without the support of volunteers who generously donate their time and talent to empower women who are entering and returning to the workforce across the region. Support is needed as listed below. Time commitment is flexible to the availability of the volunteer, unless otherwise noted.
2023 Planning Committee Position Descriptions
The following roles require the volunteer to participate virtually and at in-person events. Planning Committee members also serve as ambassadors for Dress for Success Pittsburgh, raising awareness of the organization and its mission to support local women who are entering and returning to the workforce.
Black & Gold Signature Fundraiser Planning Committee
Help us plan our biggest event of the year! Volunteers will have the opportunity to share their expertise and creative ideas during the planning process of the annual fundraiser. Each volunteer will serve on a subcommittee, supporting one of the following: centerpieces/decorations, cookie table, entertainment, event coordination/layout/menu selection, volunteer coordination, entertainment, mascots, raffle items, silent auction item, women owned/operated vendors, and 50/50 raffle.
Support the Black & Gold Signature Fundraiser Planning Committee by:
- Attending meetings held in-person the last Wednesday of each month from 5:30-7pm
- Raising awareness and funds in support of the mission of Dress for Success Pittsburgh
- Promoting the event within personal/professional networks
- Purchasing a ticket to attend the Black & Gold Signature Fundraiser and/or donating a ticket to a client to attend
- Securing at least one of the following: event sponsorship, silent auction item, or raffle basket item
- Supporting event set up and tear down
