First Date Destiny: Bethany Narey & Jonathon Chase Lampl

When Chase Met Bethany.
When Bethany Narey first saw Chase Lampl, she went through her mental checklist: He was tall, he was handsome and he had a nice smile. It was 2010, and they both were living in Cincinnati. Bethany and a friend met with Chase for a happy-hour drink to make an introduction.

Their friend eventually went home, and the pair ended up going to dinner and spending an entire evening out together. The next day, Chase told a coworker he had met the girl he was going to marry. Bethany agrees that she knew he was the one.

“It just felt like I’d known him forever,” Bethany says. “It was really easy and natural.”

She Said Yes.
In June 2014, the couple was in Honolulu vacationing with Bethany’s family. One morning, Chase woke Bethany early to go for a walk and suggested they stop at a small chapel at the resort. When they couldn’t get inside, they went to the top level of a building to get a view overlooking the ocean instead, and Chase proposed.

Later, when they met with Bethany’s family, she realized they all had been in on the surprise. To celebrate, Chase rented a cabana by the pool; they spent the day eating, drinking and having fun.

The Big Day.
Because Bethany was born in England and moved to the United States at age 8, the couple initially wanted to be married in England where most of Bethany’s family still lives.

Unable to make it work logistically, they instead had a two-year engagement to ensure their guests would have adequate time to make travel plans. They had an English, regal and traditional theme with thoughtful details: Bethany drove to the ceremony in a rented Rolls-Royce, an English custom.

Happily Ever After.
The couple went on a three-week honeymoon, spending two in St. Barts and one in St. Thomas. Bethany, 28, is the owner of Health Enhancing Thermography in Bethel Park and is the business-development executive of General Anesthetic Services, Inc. in South Park Township. Chase, 32, is a northeast regional manager of Flow Management Devices. They live Downtown.
