Announcing our Scenic Photo Contest Winner

There were 682 photos submitted to our Scenic Vistas photo contest, which ran during the month of April. Art Director Chuck Beard picked a winner and two runners-up.

Winner

ERIE KITE BEACH by Michele Beier

There’s a lot that’s just right with this photo — from the horizon splitting the scene into perfect, eye-pleasing thirds, to the colorful kites drawing the eye up to the perfect blue sky.

Honorable Mention

CLELAND ROCK by Mark Myers    COOK FOREST by Joe Lowrey

These two photos convey a great sense of the solitude one finds in nature, with a clever vanishing perspective thrown in for good measure.

The contest was inspired by our feature: 7 Scenic Day Trips with Spectacular Views.
