Watch: The First Episode of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood

The landmark childrens television series was first broadcast 51 years ago this week.




The national debut of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood was Feb. 19, 1968. The first episodes were shot in black and white. The final live episode was Aug. 31, 2001. The series would be seen in reruns until August of 2008. Today, you can watch full length episodes of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood here. There are five new episodes every other Monday. 

The groundbreaking nature of Fred Rogers' work made him a household name and earned him many awards and accolades, including our pick as the Greatest Pittsburgher of All Time.
