High school sophomores, juniors and seniors interested in crime scene investigation will get the chance to learn more about the field in June at Waynesburg University.

The 11th annual Crime Scene Investigation Camp will run from June 18-23. While at camp, students will participate in sessions and hands-on activities about criminal justice and education.

Certified experts in the university’s Department of Criminal Justice and Social Sciences and professors from the Department of Chemistry and Forensic Science and the Biology Program will share their expertise and demonstrate skills in fields such as law enforcement, criminal investigation and forensics.

“We want [attendees] to learn more about law enforcement and forensics to help them make informed decisions about what they might want to study in college or pursue as a career, and we want them to find out what it’s like to be a student at WU,” says Mike Cipoletti, camp director and assistant professor of forensic science, in a press release.

The camp costs $500, which includes meals, housing and materials. A $100 deposit is required, and spots are filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. The deadline for registration is May 5, and more information can be found here.
