724-238-3186 Coalition of seven trail organizations in Southwestern Pennsylvania and western Maryland currently building the Great Allegheny Passage, a 150-mile multiple-use rail-trail system from Cumberland, Md., to Pittsburgh. The Passage will link with the C & O Canal Towpath in Cumberland to provide a non-motorized, nearly level trail system from Pittsburgh to Washington, D.C. The Great Allegheny Passage is a segment of the Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail. The ATA member trails are the Montour Trail, Three Rivers Heritage Trail, Steel Valley Trail, Youghiogheny River Trail North, Youghiogheny River Trail South, Allegheny Highlands Trail of Pennsylvania and Allegheny Highlands Trail of Maryland.
