Nancy Reader of Hearth & Home is truly excited for the season. “Fire elements for outdoor entertaining are big for fall; from gas fire pits and the Tempest Torches to tabletop fire pots that use gel-based fuel, these accessories extend the outdoor entertaining season,” says Reader, president of the fireplace and casual indoor/outdoor home furnishings store.

Hearth & Home’s hardwood Big Green Egg grill is a huge hit with the tailgate crowd.  e store has also added a new line of kitchen accessories with outdoor dishes.

Design Tips

» Give an old fireplace new life by adding a new glass door enclosure or an updated mantle.

» Electric fireplaces provide very little heat, so if you’re looking only for aesthetics, these are a perfect decorative addition to any room.

» Gas fireplaces add heat and beauty to any space. Direct vent technology eliminates the need for a chimney and fumes are exhausted outside — so even those with allergies or asthma can enjoy a clean burning fireplace.

» A wood fireplace insert can fit into an existing masonry fireplace to provide heat and efficiency.
