Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehab Allows for Active Lifestyle
When it comes to your heart, you want the best care possible when — and where — you need it. Allegheny Health Network (AHN) offers cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation services right in your neighborhood, including our newest location at Canonsburg Hospital. Our program provides a comprehensive, individualized exercise and education program for individuals with heart and pulmonary disorders. We also welcome people who are at risk and want to prevent heart and lung conditions.
Your doctor may prescribe cardiac and pulmonary rehab if you have:
- Breathing and pulmonary disorders, congestive heart failure, or stable angina
- Heart attack, heart transplant, or peripheral vascular disease
- Pacemaker or defibrillator insertion, ventricular assist device (VAD), or valve repair and replacement
- Post-angioplasty or post-coronary stent procedures
The goal is to provide safe exercise training. Most sessions last about one hour and include a warm-up phase, aerobic period, and cool-down phase. Our dedicated staff works with your doctor and family to help you improve your energy and sense of well-being.
Our rehabilitation centers have up-to-date equipment and monitoring systems, including treadmills, recumbent bikes, elliptical trainers, arm ergometers, and free weights.
We offer cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation services at Allegheny Valley, Canonsburg, Saint Vincent, Forbes, and Jefferson hospitals, as well as the Wexford Health + Wellness Pavilion. Call (412) DOCTORS to schedule an appointment.
