If you’ve ever visited Southern California, you’re probably familiar with Taco Tuesdays — the day you can walk into nearly any beachside bar and order a round of cheap tacos, with fillings from chicken to calamari, as well as discounted Mexican drinks. Since several Pittsburgh restaurants caught on, it’s now our tradition, too. Here are just a few favorite Taco Tuesday venues.

Mexi-Casa
This Dormont barbecue knows how to serve its customers: Try the $1 hard-shell tacos with ground beef, along with $2 Sam Adams seasonal drafts. Rich décor makes this place one of the coolest restaurants in the barrio.

Redbeard’s Bar and Grill
Crowning Mt. Washington, Redbeard’s is beloved for cheap wings, great pub games and lots of rollicking company. Tuesdays bring you 75-cent tacos and $2.75 Corona bottles served all day long. Not good enough? The “Attitude Adjustment hour,” which takes place from 5-7 p.m., offers half-price appetizers. Muy bien!

Cappy’s Café
Starting at 7 p.m., you’ll find $1.50 tacos, $3 burritos and $3 Mexican beers. The deals continue ’til 11 p.m.

Lava Lounge
Aside from its karaoke, Monday-night spelling bees and “Hot Sausage Wednesday,” you will find 85-cent beef tacos — and equally delectable veggie tacos — here every Tuesday from 5 p.m. to midnight. Love a savory drink with a savory dish? Classic margaritas are available for $4.
