Finding the One Perfect Word to Describe Pittsburgh

Choosing the right “Pittsburgh word” could earn you a sweet staycation package.

You’ve probably seen the VisitPittsburgh promotions that end with words “Pittsburgh. Mighty. Beautiful,” and another word such as “Welcoming,” “Inspiring” or “Proud.”

As part of a new campaign, the tourism organization wants you to come up with that third perfect Pittsburgh word. This video is designed to give you inspiration.

You can download the “Mighty. Beautiful.” sign, or pick one up at the WELCOME Pittsburgh Information Center & Gift Shop in Fifth Avenue Place.

Then you can either:

  1. Write your word and then post a photo on your social channels using #mightybeautiful – or –

  2. Write your word and post a quick video explaining why you chose your word

On Aug. 23, a grand prize winner will be announced to win one of two Pittsburgh Staycation packages. The winner can choose from one of the following options:

Staycation Option 1:  Mighty. Beautiful. Passionate.
Overnight stay at the Hyatt Place Pittsburgh – North Shore
