Marvin, Menswear & Me

Confession of the Week: I can always rely on the pros at Saks Fifth Avenue to unearth emerging trends in menswear (and I can always rely on my husband Marvin to find them). Tonight, Saks goes above and beyond fashion to celebrate men from the inside out at The Pittsburgh Father’s Day Honors event.

He’s polished, colorful and knows how to bring patterns and textures together. He’s my husband Marvin and next to my dad who wore Marvin looking well-suited in navy and pinstripes.three-piece suits to work, Marvin is the best-dressed man in my life. He has a closet full of classic shirts, contemporary suits and ties. Although  not his profession, fashion is something he has an instinct for and I greatly appreciate his love for apparel as an aesthetic.

What I appreciate even more is his good heart, his relentless work ethic and his love for our kids. He’s the big, green playful “Hulk” in our son’s life and the wardrobe warrior in our daughter’s life (he shops for 90% of her clothing). So when I heard about Saks Fifth Avenue’s concept to reward deserving dads at The Pittsburgh Father’s Day Honors, I immediately thought of Marvin. Although I couldn't nominate him for the honor (Pittsburgh magazine is a proud sponsor of the event), he’ll always be a winning combination of style and substance—a model of the most darling and dapper dad.

Read about the deserving dads being honored at saksfathersday.com. They will receive an entire look from the Saks Fifth Avenue Men’s Collection and a donation of 10 percent of the evening’s sales will be provided to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Pittsburgh.

The Pittsburgh Father’s Day Honors, 5p.m.-7p.m. at Saks Fifth Avenue, downtown; 412/263-4800.
